One of the famous series that's quite popular after Friends is How I met your mother?
A light mood comedy series that just brightens us up with good humor and laughter. Barney Stinson, an annoying character of this series is also a charm of the series. I never thought while I watched this series years back; that someday something he blabbers on screen would not only make sense but also motivate me. If you ever hear Barney's dialogues, it's difficult to say that those make sense at all, straight forward annoying yet funny lines.
But his style of calling himself "A.W.E.eee wait for it ..S.O.M.Eee" is something that we also must try once in a while. As I struggle to stand my ground in a whirlpool of problems today, I realized that to re-build confidence in self is so important.
It's very easy to get confused with what you want, when you start chewing in everyone's feedback/thoughts/reactions on your problems. You can't avoid sharing your problem with the ones you trust, it's a necessary evil; so that you can clear your head at times, get a different perspective, re-engineer solutions and so on. But what it also does is to overload you with so much information and external emotions that you start losing track of how or what you actually feel or think of the problem. That starts draining your energy, losing your focus, and then eventually getting emotionally challenged questioning your ability to get through that tough phase.
Yesterday evening, when I was feeling something similar; a friend while talking to me just mentioned "....and what's fucking awesome is that you have the ability to handle the situation". The word AWESOME always reminds me of Barney, just because he uses it so much while he talks in the show. And then this is what I did, in his words "When I am SAD, I stop being SAD and be AWESOME instead".
People around you give suggestions based on their experience, their knowledge, their emotions. When you ask suggestions from others, it comes with a price. The price is, to challenge yourself to listen to them peacefully, but only take what YOU think and feel will apply the best to you. Don't let others control your decisions of life. Just remember "You are AWESOME". True Story!
