As I sit here in my hotel room in Dehradun, I hear the song “Yeh raatein, yeh mausam, nadi ka kinara, yeh chanchal hawa” playing somewhere far off and I am carried into a state of trance. Believe some sort of event is going on close to this location somewhere, and they have been singing various songs since evening, but this caught my attention forcing me to scribble something quickly in my blog.
I was given a room with mountain view, and of course having stayed in Colorado for so many years, mountains aren’t new to me. But I must say every time I see them standing tall, I am always enchanted. And sometimes some songs are so apt for a situation that you feel that song was written specially for that moment. They fit in so perfectly!
This song just made this moment memorable. For those who know this song, see the picture below and imagine you feeling the cool breeze, watching the sunset and this song playing in the air far off. When you play a song, it’s your choice, so there is no element of surprise. But when someone else plays a song that clicks to you as your own, that’s when it becomes special.
So here’s my note to keep this memory alive in my blog - an evening in Dehradun!
