My only goal in life is to be happy.
It wasn’t that way before, but from past 7-8 years, that has been my daily goal and will be so going forward.
Everything I do is a step to fulfill this goal.
I have learnt to be content, to live in the moment, to bar all negative thoughts, every single day.
Every planned or unplanned activity I do, is driven by this simple goal.
I don’t want to be famous or rich or successful. My measure of success is if I am at peace wherever I am.
By today’s moral code - I am called SELFISH.
Everything I do helps ME take care of my body, soul and mind.
But here’s the thing, that’s not being Selfish. That’s called SELFCARE. And I don’t do it at the expense of others. So, that’s not the same as being selfish.
Like I was telling a friend yesterday, what society forgets is, there is NO community without a Me. If I don’t exist, then there’s no family, community or world that’s connected to me.
So if I don’t take care of myself, I won’t be able to do anything for the world. If I am not in a right state of mind, my impact on community will be negative.
We go all out, on being selfless and taking care of the world’s problems, while nasty termites are slowly eating us away. What’s the point?
अहम् ब्रह्मसमी । (Aham Brahmasmi.) I am Divine.
It is not just some cocky line from ancient scripture. I feel, it’s the one absolute truth, that which today’s moral codec is missing, forcing us to feel guilty whenever we try to think of ourself. It took considerable effort for me to get out of that thought process.
I say to myself every day अहम् ब्रह्मसमी । This is how I think and this is how I operate. And well, added benefit, if I am happy, I will spread happiness around. A simple logic.
