You, who carry a justification up your sleeve for every action of your life;
You, who pretend to understand the pain of the sufferers having yourself never been touched by such adversity;
You, who act like the one who has never faulted;
You, who are so keen to sympathize the present without even attempting to understand the past that lead to this;
You, who oh so confidently determine who the criminal is without ever knowing the true nature of the crime;
You, who think it’s an unpardonable offence to not take a stand on every ill proceedings of this world and feel obligated to form rushed opinions;
You, who think of yourself an idealist but whose ideas are so heavily influenced that you aren’t able to discern the facts from fiction;
You, who fancy that by voicing your opinions in-line with the most favoured, you have gained a right to speak over the matter;
You, who taunt the ones who don’t take part in your rallies as weakling, privileged, lucky, fortunate;
Well, listen.
No, I don’t have an opinion on Israeli-Palestinian crisis. No, I don’t have an opinion on France Hijab Ban. No, I don’t have an opinion on white supremacy. I don’t have an opinion on many such world issues.
And I am not ashamed of it.
But Yes, I sympathize with the human sufferings that’s been inflicted. My heart bleeds for the innocent lives. But that does not let me condemn one side over the other.
Because I don’t know enough about the history that has lead to these present day situations. I discuss these issues with clear headed people, but never form an opinion until I am fully convinced one way or other.
I know that I am not qualified to take a stand or pass a judgement on the conflicts I have no clear insight into, and I don’t rely on what’s shared on media or social media. It’s not my insensitivity to these human adversities but my acute sensitivity that stops me from taking hasty resolutions.
If history has taught me one thing, it’s that humans are complex beings; and the problems we create are never as simple as they elude; there’s no right and wrong, there’s just that huge grey abyss into which all logic falls.
So you see, I admit my ignorance, and I find that more reasonable than flaunting my stupidity over such matters.
