Jeevan ke safar mein rahi, milte hai bichad jane ko. Aur de jate hai yaadein, tanhai mein tadpane ko :)
I was talking to my cousin yesterday, who is fresh out of college and working in an IT firm for about 3 months now. She was telling about what she does on weekends, her confusions, challenges etc.. and I was taken back to my days.
When I was telling her what crazy stuffs I had done; I could not help but smile remembering all those moments. If sophistication would come to life, she would commit suicide looking at me and my friends back in those days. Am pretty sure quite a few of my friends who are married and with kids; would hesitate to reveal that side of theirs anymore.
The way we would dress, the way we would behave (misbehave); in fact we looked so undernourished and pathetic that when we compare today to back then, we wont recognize ourselves. It feels so stupid to think of some of our so called life threatening problems of those times. I think we are still the same when we meet, it's just that we no longer get to hangout anymore due to us being in different continents and those days are now just memories. I think it's been 5-6 years, that I have met some of these friends and we did something crazy together.
I mean we have done a lot stupid things that I cannot say here but something like getting drunk and dancing on the stupid bhojpuri desi spiderman song in the USA; OR us laughing holding our stomachs, rolling on the floor; till our chest and stomachs hurt; and we kept begging each other to stop but we couldn't; OR some of the craziest photos we have clicked OR driving all the way to a different state the previous night for a friends wedding just to miss the actual ceremony next day owing to laziness/over sleeping/whatever, and reaching the venue when everyone were heading out. The list just keeps growing.
You guys have watched Psych series? Sometimes I do miss what Shawn and Guss from that series have in one another; a friend with whom you can be crazy all day long. They don't look eye to eye, they always pick on one another but yet they cant do without one another. They crack me up in every scene. There can be a lot of friends, but only a few, with whom you can be crazy, act without thinking.
I haven't found any new friend with whom I can be crazy like I have been with some of my best buddies in past. But that doesn't mean I won't find anyone in future. Until then, reliving these memories with a smile is what I love doing.
Now you know why I opened this blog with the famous Kishore song - Jeevan ke safar mein rahi, milte hai bichad jane ko. Aur de jate hai yaadein, tanhai mein tadpane ko :)
